What do you have to buy and what can we supply?

Don't panic about buying everything!! If there is anything that you don't have that you need, then ask us. Often we can lend you stuff - or even just advise you not to worry. The sort of level of hike that we're talking about here doesn't need hundreds of pounds of preparation. In any case...

Histon Scouts will supply...

• Tents
• Stoves
• Maps

This stuff it would be great if you had your own, but a leader can probably help you with a loan if not:

• Decent lightweight Thermarest or Karrimat
• Rucksack
• Map case and compass

You really do need your own...

• Sleeping bag
• Boots and socks
• Food. We're not buying your food.

That's not everything. I haven't listed the small stuff that you'll find on the kit list.
