When to go - and things you have to juggle

Obviously, you need to find a time when everyone can hike at the same time. When you've done that, the fun starts.

Some camp sites can be booked up over the summer. Unfortunately, Little Abington is one of them. All the weekends from the May half-term to July in 2009 have the big fields booked, so it is a case of asking nicely whether there is space. This means that it's worth looking for school training days (INSET), and half term itself too.

It's good to have a Scouter who can see you off on your way, and also pop in in the evening to laugh at your tent-pitching. One way or another, we have to check you're okay, so you can't go if we can't find someone free to do that :-)
