Rules
- Youth-led expeditions have to be below 500m and within half an hour of the nearest road. So you're good round here.
- Plan your route to avoid motorways and dual carriageways (unless there is a footbridge).
- One of you is going to be in charge, and we need to sign off on that and give him or a her an "Event Passport". Actually, we want you all to act as a team. But Some Are More Equal Than Others. You must carry the passport with you.
- We need to choose a Home Contact person. That's someone who isn't a parent who is the official point of contact for you, parents, us, and emergency services if something goes wrong.
- We need a copy of your "Route Plan", not only with locations, but times that you will be in those places. It helps us find you if we need to.
- Before you hike, we need to get permissions forms back with medical info. We need make sure parents and the "home contact" person have swapped all your info. We need to get you the Event Passport (signed) - and we might need to get a copy of it to the campsite. Finally, we need to check that you have everything, your preparation is good, and that you know what you need to know.
