Hut Rules
[The Scout Hut is actually jointly owned with Guides and other interested parties and operated by a Hut Committee, who can be contacted per the phone numbers below.]
HUT RULES - TO ENSURE SAFETY
1. Any damage or problems that arise must be reported in the book provided by the committee and must phone

2. Fire Drill-book available (provided by committee) to put in date when practised.
One to be held every half term.
On entering unbolt fire doors. Fire drill- through fire doors and assemble on the grass on the other side of the road. Take a role call. Responsible adult to lead out and take roll call. 2nd nominated leader to sweep hut.
3. Accidents - all minor and major personal accidents to be reported and action taken. Time, date, description of accident and action taken.
4. All user groups must have their own personal first aid kits. These should not contain any medication. (none to be left in the kitchen) and all leaders should have training in first response. No meeting can be held without a qualified first aider.
5. Kitchen - no children to be allowed in the kitchen at any time without adult supervision. Cleaning chemicals are kept in the kitchen under the sink. No food to be stored to kitchen to avoid vermin and insects.
No electrical appliances anywhere in the hut unless they have been checked out and approved by a qualified electrician.
6. No hard ball games to be played in the hut. When playing games ensure that all cupboard doors are closed and other hazards removed (eg chairs and tables) to avoid accidents.
7. Cleanliness and hygiene - All rubbish to be removed after a meeting and disposed of and new bin liners put in for the next user group. Please do not use bins without liners. Kitchen must be cleaned and left clean and hygienic.
Toilets - check on leaving the building - flush and leave clean.
Floors - sweep, if necessary wash.
Lights, water heater and all wall heaters - turn off on leaving.
End rooms - these are not storage areas.
