St. George's Day and Scouting

Scout all around the world celebrated their patron saint on Sunday. Baden-Powell believed that St. George's example of duty and courage made him the perfect example for Scouts. This year, in the grounds of Windsor Castle, both HRH The Prince of Wales and Bear Grylls, the UK's Chief Scout, officiated in presenting Scouting's highest award, the Queen's Scout Award, to the movement's latest top achievers.

Histon Scouts joined their companions from the district to celebrate in Bourn church, with a parade, a short service, the gongs for their own most dedicated leaders, and some fun in the sunshine, including a mass tug-of-war competition.
