St. Patrick’s Day
Spent in the White Swan off Mill Road, this was a momentous evening spent by the younger section of our troop. The night consisted of drinking guinness, chatting and drinking more guinness.
The night was accompanied by a small irish folk band playing amongst this crowded pub as we drunk yet more guinness, and then trundled More >

The epic tale of guns, posters, and random encounters!
This week, we had several adventures in one!
Firstly, we started off proceedings with a light-hearted (which quickly turned rather competitive) showdown of rifle shooting. We met at the 13th Cambridge Scout hut, earlier than normal (6pm), which meant that unfortunately most of our members weren’t able to make it due to work commitments and it More >

CUSAGC ‘Forward’ Hike – Results
Looking over the traffic to this site over the past few days, I have noticed a lot of fellow scout leaders who had been a part of the hike have been finding us looking, while trying to look for the results. So… here they are, in a pretty PDF, downloadable form: CLICK HERE!
Well done to More >

Not quite Archery… But still a good night!
We were supposed to being doing archery tonight at the 11th/9th scout hut, but due to the person with the certificate being ill, we quickly had to think of something else to do…
So we ate some snacks and drank coffee. Then, it was finally decided that we would use our pioneering skills to create a More >

CUSAGC ‘Forward’ After Party
After the ‘Foward’ incident hike, we all met up for something to eat and chill out.
Take away was on the menu and our curry order was placed through a phone call (while Leigh was driving us to the venue… as he was being late as usual). Once we had FINIALLY arrived, we realised there was More >

Great feedback for the CUSAGC ‘Forward’ Hike
Just received a really nice email from Clare of CUSAGC fame concerning the ‘Forward’ Hike we were helping out at yesterday. Just to be sure everyone who volunteered their time yesterday gets to read this, I thought I would post it on here. (I also love the feedback from the Leader ‘Roger’ from 2nd Langham More >

CUSAGC ‘Forward’ Hike
Yesterday, we set out at the unearthly time of 7am to go help out on the CUSAGC ‘Forward’. The ‘Forward’ is an incident hike for Scouts and Guides aged 10-14. Using grid references, the teams hike 10 miles going through 5 checkpoints en route.
We were up this early to prepare to man one of these More >

Cambridge Scout District site down (Temporary solution)
Today I wanted to go and buy some lovely badges from our local Cambridge Scout Shop, but couldn’t remember it’s opening times. So I went online, went to my bookmarks, and realised the Cambridge District Scout site is no longer there. I paniced. Quickly, I started Google searching for the information I needed – but More >

Launch of our new look for 2010
It’s been a long time coming, but we have finally pushed the boat out with our new design…
As you can see, the changes have been across the board – from our site (which was put up in a rush last year, and so didn’t really reflect what we were about) – to our new poster More >

Well… We were SUPPOSED to be going to a Quiz Night!
Yesterday, we all decided that we would go and visit the Cambridge Muppet Network who were going to a Quiz Night out in the sticks, north of Cambridge. Now, unlike us, the Muppets meet on a monthly basis, and so we don’t really get that many opportunities to met up with them.
We all met up More >

God, I’m stuffed!
This fine evening was, of course, Pancake Day… And MY GOD did we celebrate!
Members of CUSAGC and Ventures met up around Jenny & CJ’s house, and proceeded to stuff our faces with as many Pancakes as our stomachs could manage. Too be honest, we lost count of how many we actually consumed, but it was More >

Cambridge Venture Network Unit is now a Society!
It has been a little while since we have updated the site with some news… But to be honest, we have been a little busy!
One of the biggest changes to our unit over the past month is that we have become a registered Society with Anglia Ruskin Students’ Union. This means that we are not More >
