Motorcycle Camper
If you're always on the road with your motorcycle, whether long travels or short ones, or you just enjoy going on holidays or camping with it, and find it inconvenient and impractical to have to look for hotels during your trips, then what you may need is a motorcycle camper. Not just pick-up truck owners have the option to have a camper, motorcycles owners do to. In fact, you can find a lot of designs of motorcycle campers out in the market today, varying from small, medium, to bigger ones. Depending on the type of motorcycle you have, you'll always find one that will suit you. Here are some top of the list finds:
Roadman Motorcycle Camper
Roadman motorcycle campers are a great way for a biker to travel and camp. Its lightweight design makes it easy to pull with almost any size cycle. There is a lot of storage space inside the camper and on the luggage rack for all your camping gear and other necessities. It sets up in less then 5 minutes and keeps you off the ground and out of the mud. They are a lightweight motorcycle camper designed to be pulled by a small or large motorcycle or small car. They pulled theirs easily with a 650 air cooled Yamaha V-Star with two upand with the bike and camper fully loaded. The three-foot wide trailer body matches standard width of most handlebars. This allows the trailer to draft behind the cycle and also to trail the same width as the cycle.
Setting up is simple. Flip over the trailers cover, fold down the attached leg and attach the additional leg to the trailers luggage rack. Set the camping poles in the holders and slip the tent over the tent poles then Velcro's onto main body and S hooks to the lid. It sleeps 2 on a 6'x4' bed which is perfect for 2 self inflatable "Therm a rest" roll up pads or double size air mattress or what ever you prefer to sleep on.
The motorcycle camper can be used as a motorcycle camper or a motorcycle trailer by simply lifting out the wood sections and setting them aside, there are no bolts or clamps to remove.
Com-Pac-Camp
Com-Pac-Camp is the leader in custom small com-pac campers and cargo carriers. They're uniquely designed camper is perfect for lightweight vehicles such as small cars, SUV's, motorcycles, and ATV's. The com-pac motorcycle camper is lightweight, hard top and sets up to four people. They also manufacture cargo carriers ideal for vehicles, ATV, motorcycle or snow machine. You can check out more about their products at this website com-pac-camp.com.
Scooter Schooner (Motorcycle camper)
The Scooter Schooner and Sundowner are light, compact, and easy to pull trailers that are small enough to pull behind motorcycles, ATVs or small vehicles. The Schooner sets up in approximately 5 minutes and the Sundowner in just a few minutes. The Schooner and Sundowner both feature a queen size bed, dining table, 2 burner stove, 34 quart ice chest, 27 cubic feet of storage space when packed and ready to pull. Both models are 40" wide x 60" long x 36" tall and weigh only 275 pounds.

Colorado Hiking
Hiking is a mini-adventure. It lets you take a break from your normal routine without the time and expense involved in "real" vacations. You can see new things, have new experiences, and, if you want, challenge yourself physically. If you live in Colorado, you never lack for Colorado hiking opportunities. The State has an abundance of world-class hiking trails, far enough to give that remote feeling yet still relatively nearby.
Like any other activity, Colorado hiking is a great way to enjoy yourself and just have fun. However, if you want to get the most out of it and have the best experience over it, safety comes first. Below are some tips to help you remain safe and secure even while Colorado hiking:
Be Prepared
It's a scout's motto, but even for Colorado hikers, it's a good motto to adopt. Wilderness activities like Colorado hiking involve many risks. But most of these risks can be easily avoided or at least mitigated if you keep in mind your basic knowledge about outdoors survival and preparation.
The first thing you need to do is to know what risks you'll likely be facing. The thought of being in the Colorado mountain wild areas evokes all sorts of horror and adventure stories of potential calamities when in reality the most prevalent risk anyone faces is pretty mundane – getting wet and cold.
As with most hiking trips, Colorado hiking requires that you lighten your load as much as you can. That alone is not much trouble, if only you knew exactly what you're going to encounter on a hike. Your lack knowledge is never more emphasized when it's your first time being in that area. So chances are you are going to end up loading your backpack with all sorts of "emergency" essentials, when the only equipment you really need are things that can help you cope with rain storms, rapid drops in temperature, heavy winds, injuries, fatigue, getting lost, and animal encounters.
It gets easier if you follow the following sensible practices when you go Colorado hiking:
* Avoid hiking alone. Even a minor injury or mishap can turn into a potential major problem if there is no one nearby to assist you.
* Before you hike out from a trailhead, make sure that you leave some sort of information about what trail you are going to follow, what time you left, etc. That way, if you fail to return after an awfully long time, someone will know where to find you. However, be careful about leaving any specific information as not every person has good intentions.
* Let an acquaintance in town know where you are going and when you intend to be back. If you don't make it back, they can notify the authorities.
* Take along a cellphone if you have one in case of an emergency that requires help. In many cases in the wilderness, you will not be able to get a cellphone connection due to mountainous terrain, being in a canyon, or distance. However, even if you cannot initially connect through, you or someone else can climb to a ridgeline or summit and have a better chance for a connection from there.

We're thrilled with the response that we've been getting to our new Make: Projects platform. We're building up a nice library of projects, technique, and primer articles from us and user-submitted projects from the maker community. Thanks to everyone who's checked us out and chipped in.
Here are just a few items from the site. Please come and see what we're up to, roll up your sleeves, and get involved. It's a wiki, so it's thirsty for content. If you have an area of expertise, share it with us by fleshing out a topic area. If you have a project, please share that. And if you build one of the projects, hit the "I did it! Success!" button, and let us know what you learned via the Notes feature. And remember, you can amend projects, so if you've figured out a better way to do a step, have better pictures, have variations on the project, submit them. We want this site to feel like your virtual Maker's Notebook. Don't be afraid to jump in.

Photo by Scott Beale / Laughing Squid
We're happy to announce that Make: Online's very own editor-in-chief, Gareth Branwyn, was recently interviewed by SyFy for their Eureka Idea Lab. Here's a snippet:
Pick one: personal jetpack, warp drive, or Lee Majors-level bionic implants?Well, I already have an artificial hip, a rebuilt heart, and get shot up six times a year with tweaked mice proteins (Infliximab) for my arthritic disease. I'm a human/machine/mouse hybrid! So, the whole Lee Majors thing? Old news for me. As William Gibson said: "The future is already here, it's just not evenly distributed yet." I get the Joint Journal from my orthopedic clinic and I lust after the new hardware. Time for an upgrade.
If I had to choose, it'd be warp drive, without question. It's not that I don't love my Mother Earth, but if I had a choice, I would leave her in a smear of light in my rear-view mirror in a (bionic) heartbeat.
Gareth also discusses what it truly means to be a maker, how to get started on the way to becoming a maker (open stuff up!), and some of the most inspiring scientific advancements of his lifetime. He also mentions Jimi Hendrix and quotes both Steven Roberts and Arthur Koestler. And if you know Gareth, you'll notice a surprising lack of quotes from William Blake.
To sum up, this SyFy interview is a must read!
